Two Color Toothbrush Handle Injection Mould

Focare Mould specializes in the design and manufacturing of two color toothbrush handle injection moulds for high-volume PP+TPE production.

This project uses a 12+12 cavity 2K mould structure, combining rigid PP with soft-touch TPE to produce an integrated two-material toothbrush handle. The mould is designed for accurate second-shot positioning, reliable PP+TPE overmolding and stable mass production.

PP + TPE Two-Color Overmolding

A toothbrush handle needs both structural strength and comfortable grip performance. In this project, PP forms the rigid section of the handle, while TPE is overmolded onto the PP component to create the soft-touch gripping areas.

For this type of PP+TPE two-color mould, accurate positioning between the first and second injection stages is essential. Any positioning error may affect the appearance of the two-color boundary, TPE coverage and overall product consistency.

12+12 Cavity Mould for Mass Production

The mould is designed with a 12+12 cavity configuration, allowing multiple toothbrush handles to be produced during each production cycle.

For a high-cavity 2K mould, filling balance and dimensional consistency between cavities are especially important. Focare Mould considers runner balance, cavity layout, cooling and mould accuracy during the mould design process to support stable high-volume production.

12+12 Point Gating System

This toothbrush handle mould uses a 12-point gate + 12-point valve gate system for the two injection materials.

The injection system is designed to provide controlled and balanced filling across the cavities. Precise gate control is particularly important for the TPE overmolding stage, where consistent material flow helps maintain uniform soft-touch areas and clean two-color boundaries.

Precision Two-Color Mould Structure

Compared with a conventional single-material toothbrush mould, a 2K toothbrush handle mould requires additional consideration of the relationship between the first-shot PP component and the second-shot TPE material.

The mould structure must maintain accurate positioning throughout the two injection stages to achieve:

For this project, H13 mould steel is used according to the mould requirements.
