PP+TPE Easy-Lock Lid Mold Design

Focare Mould develops two color food container lid moulds for airtight food storage containers using PP+TPE overmolding technology.

Compared with conventional lids that require a separately assembled sealing ring, a two-component lid can integrate the soft sealing area directly with the rigid PP structure. This provides an attractive two-color appearance while simplifying the product structure and assembly process.

PP + TPE Integrated Sealing Design

In this design, PP forms the rigid lid structure, while TPE forms the soft sealing area.

The TPE sealing section is overmolded directly onto the PP component through a two-shot injection process. This eliminates the need to separately assemble a sealing ring and helps reduce gaps where dirt may accumulate.

For the mould design, accurate positioning between the PP and TPE sections is important to achieve consistent sealing areas and stable product quality.

Two Color Lid Mould Engineering
